A roundtable on ‘The World in a Pandemic: Global COVID-19 Strategies’ will be broadcast jointly by three TV stations at 16:00 (MSK) on 10 April 2020: state-owned nationwide news channel Russia-24, TASS Russian News Agency, and Russian business news channel RBK TV. The roundtable will look at strategies to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus being adopted in Russia in the context of global best practice. This event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity.

Participants will include Head of Federal Service and Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation Anna Popova; Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko; Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maksim Reshetnikov; General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives Svetlana Chupsheva; Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Yandex Tigran Khudarvedyan; Chairman of the Board of Directors of URALCHEM Dmitry Mazepin; CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev; Social Policy and Corporate Communications Director of METALLOINVEST LLC Yulia Mazanova, and others. Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov will call in to participate in the roundtable.

During the roundtable representatives of Russian authorities will analyze today’s situation both in Russia and around the globe. They will also comment on existing measures to fight the spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19 in healthcare, economy, social policy, and international humanitarian relief efforts. “This a true challenge, and our common task is to weather the storm. People in Russia should feel our support and stay informed about all the decisions. Authorities, business, non-profit organizations and the society we need to protect should team up and work together. Today, this is our common task,” noted Head of Federal Service and Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation Anna Popova.

The shock the global economy is experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic cannot but affect entrepreneurship. Members of the business community will add a valuable input to the roundtable. “Roscongress and the Content Foundation launched a dedicated communications platform in order to ensure the dialogue between business and government. This will help keep the community informed about the existing government and business initiatives to fight coronavirus.    This roundtable will become an opening event for a series of meetings. Participants are expected to discuss the most essential topics during the war on the pandemic in the social and economic spheres," shared Elena Sokolova, Director of the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activity.
