It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+.
Another page in Sochi’s history has been written with this event. For the first time, this welcoming location on the Black Sea will host a specialized forum which has been tasked with identifying pathways to achieve overarching national objectives. We have a number of major topics to discuss, as well as proposals to develop on improving the demographic situation, increasing life expectancy, and increasing the efficiency of medicine provision. The Russian Investment Forum’s communication platform affords excellent opportunities for this kind of multifaceted and multilateral collaboration. It is an event known for its constructive dialogue between representatives of government bodies, the scientific sector, the expert community, the business sphere, and specialized institutions and NGOs, who examine the most pressing issues affecting socioeconomic development in Russia.
The Forum’s goals have particular practical relevance, and will strike a chord with all of us. Substantive legislative support will be provided to achieve them. The Federation Council is currently focusing on the implementation of demographic initiatives in the regions, the National Action Plan for Women, and the Action Plan for the Older Generation. Legislation continues to be created in response to three major projects: A Decade of Childhood, Demography, and Healthcare.
A huge amount of work lies ahead. We must mobilize all our efforts and resources to ensure that high-quality medical care is available to all, worker shortage issues are addressed, healthy lifestyle values are promoted, and an environment conducive to active and healthy ageing is created.
I firmly believe that the Forum will facilitate the implementation of the government’s social policy, the improvement of healthcare in Russia, and the strengthening of the nation’s health overall.
Allow me to wish everyone a successful and productive Forum!
