On the margins of the Eastern Economic Forum, a panel discussion will be held on the integration of a multidisciplinary approach to children's health care. The session ‘Children's Health: Improving the Effectiveness of Medical Care’ is organised by the Roscongress Foundation's Healthy Society project.

The event will be attended by: Lilia Ovcharova, Vice-Rector, Director of the Institute of Social Policy of the Higher School of Economics; Marina Bebchuk, Director of the Sukhareva Scientific and Practical Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health of the Moscow Health Department, Yevgeny Nikonov, Deputy Chairman for Social Affairs in the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory; Igor Bryukhovetsky, Head Physician of the Medical Centre of the Far Eastern Federal University; Antonina Steinberg, Head of the Inclusion Unit at Contact, an NGO for children with autism spectrum disorders; Anton Yaremchuk, CEO of the Faithful Direction Charity Medical Search Service, and others. The session will be moderated by Evelina Zakamskaya, TV presenter at Rossiya 24 TV channel; Editor-in-Chief of the TV channel ‘Doctor'.

“Providing medical assistance to children who require specialized care requires a transition to a multidisciplinary model. It is not only a question of a child being seen by doctors of several specialities, but also involving educators, psychologists and social workers. This interdisciplinary approach should be integrated into everyday medical practice”, said Anton Yaremchuk, CEO of the Faithful Direction Charity Care Search Service.

During the meeting, experts will discuss how to build an optimal system of medical care that takes into account the interests of all parties and, above all, patients. They will also talk about in which countries the practice of multidisciplinary teams is a standard of care for seriously ill children, how to transfer multidisciplinary practices to Russia, and what successful practices of the multidisciplinary approach are used in Russia, including in the Far Eastern Federal District.
