Healthy Life Forum Releases Business Programme

The Healthy Life Forum has posted the event’s business programme on its official website. The Forum, which will take place on 23–24 March 2023 at Tauride Palace, is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation’s Healthy Life project and the Russian Ministry of Health. The Forum will be held with the support of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Government of the Leningrad Region, and the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

“Developing partnerships in the healthcare sector, strengthening international cooperation for the implementation of public health programmes, and uniting the efforts of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States to achieve the sustainable development goals are all an important contribution to building a healthy society. The participation of delegations from CIS countries in the Healthy Life Forum creates broad opportunities to find the best ways for interaction between our countries. The Forum’s business programme covers the most pressing issues and areas for cooperation. All the initiatives that have been announced will be worked out in a targeted manner, and the most effective ones will be reflected in the roadmap,” Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The Healthy Life Forum’s business programme includes sessions on how to combat infectious and non-communicable diseases, train medical personnel to meet modern challenges, increase the availability and efficiency of primary healthcare, and the digital transformation of healthcare. Participants in the session ‘Medical Tourism in the Commonwealth Space’ will discuss what measures need to be taken to increase the global competitiveness of medical tourism in the CIS, what integration processes could bolster the joint market for medical tourism in the CIS, as well as what tools need to be introduced for the joint development of medical and health tourism.

Enhancing the quality and safety of medical care is one of the top strategic priorities of the state policy in healthcare, which aims to increase the population, extend healthy life expectancy, reduce mortality and disability, respect the rights of citizens in the healthcare sector, and ensure citizens’ rights to state guarantees in healthcare-related matters. Participants in the session ‘Quality and Safety of Medical Care: The Foundation for the Development of National Healthcare’ will consider what methods and tools for the development of healthcare will be effective in the face of current challenges, what results have been achieved, and what the priorities and prospects are for the development of a national system to ensure the quality and safety of medical care.

Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko will moderate the plenary session of the Healthy Life Forum. The expert discussions at the Healthy Life Forum will be moderated by Yevgeny Shlyakhto, General Director of Almazov National Medical Research Centre of the Russian Ministry of Health; Andrey Kaprin, General Director of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Russian Ministry of Health; Oksana Drapkina, Director of the National Medical Research Centre for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health; Yelena Aksenova, Director of the Research Institute for Healthcare Organization and Medical Management of the Moscow Department of Health; Grigory Ivlyev, President of the Eurasian Patent Office; Olga Kobyakova, Director of the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Russian Ministry of Health; Alla Samoylova, Director of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare; Vitaly Omelyanovsky, General Director of the Centre for Healthcare Quality Assessment and Control of the Russian Ministry of Health; Valentina Kosenko, General Director of the Scientific Centre for Expert Evaluation of Medicinal Products of the Russian Ministry of Health; and Svetlana Shport, General Director of the Serbsky National Medical Research Centre for Psychiatry and Narcology of the Russian Ministry of Health, among others.

The business programme includes more than 20 expert discussions, and innovative developments in the healthcare sector will be presented at an exhibition area on the sidelines of the Forum.
