The official awards ceremony for contestants in the 3rd Women for a Healthy Society National Competition of the Best Social Projects was held on the sidelines of the Eurasian Women’s Forum. The event was organized by the Women for a Healthy Society project of the Eurasian Women's Forum with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

The Women for a Healthy Society project aims to improve the population’s quality of life and well-being by popularizing healthy lifestyle values among women of all ages, introducing tools that give women access to reliable and high-quality information about health management and the principles of health conservation, and promoting female leadership through traditional family values. The project brings together socially proactive women who seek to convey the values of a healthy lifestyle and a responsible attitude to one’s own health, as well as the health and well-being of their family. It provides an opportunity for its participants to present their initiatives at a wide range of federal and regional venues, where they are effectively assisted by the annual national competition of the best social initiatives that aim to preserve people’s health.

The 3rd Women for a Healthy Society National Competition of the Best Social Projects was held in the run-up to the Fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum and focused on identifying the best socially oriented projects that aim to preserve people’s health and promote traditional values.

Over 400 applications from 65 Russian regions were submitted for the competition. In addition, the competition went global this year, as it also accepted applications from women in the CIS and the Middle East. The competition experts reviewed the best socially oriented projects that are led by women and have great potential to be scaled in different regions of the country.

“These days, women’s role in preserving traditional values, the health of society, and the well-being of our entire nation is not only becoming multifaceted, but also extremely significant. Women demonstrate incredible resilience, an unwavering desire to preserve our long-standing priorities and traditions, as well as concern and responsibility for the well-being of society. In addition, the women of today are educators and leaders who are actively involved in both progressive and creative transformations. They promote the ideas of justice, respect, and soft rational equality and serve as guardians of cultural heritage, public health, and well-being. Thanks to their contribution to education, science, healthcare, politics, and business, women make a significant contribution to the harmonious development of society and the prosperity of the nation. One of women’s key roles in the 21st century is to preserve and hand down traditional values to future generations. Women’s involvement in the cultural education of children is what instils in them respect for the history, language, customs, and traditions of their people. It helps to preserve cultural identity and continuity. It is impossible to overstate women’s role in maintaining and improving public health. Proactive women are committed to developing socially significant projects that aim to popularize a healthy lifestyle and improve the health and quality of life of our entire society. By involving women in the public health agenda and supporting women’s initiatives, we provide women with the opportunity to influence society and instil health values in it. The Women for a Healthy Society project is a place where active women leaders can exchange ideas, knowledge, and experience about initiatives that aim to strengthen and promote ideas of health, family values, and well-being. It is a platform that has all the conditions for development and professional growth, a favourable environment with mutual support within a team of like-minded people, and opportunities to scale up existing initiatives, gain impetus for the creation of new projects, as well as mentoring from expert curators. The Women for a Healthy Society National Competition of the Best Social Projects not only provides a wonderful impetus for the development and awareness of one’s own importance, but also a way to establish new social connections and receive an expert assessment and support from like-minded people, which ultimately provides effective benefits for the professional growth of each of our contestants,” said Anastasia Stolkova, manager of the Women for a Healthy Society project and first deputy director for development and director of the Healthcare Directorate of the Roscongress Foundation.

The awards ceremony was attended by the Chairwoman of the Eurasian Women’s Forum Galina Karelova, Russian Deputy Minister of Health Yevgenia Kotova, First Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency Tatyana Yakovleva, and Director of the National Medical Research Centre for Therapy and Preventive Medicine and Chief Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Russian Ministry of Health Oksana Drapkina.
