Contest Announced for Top 10 Innovative Companies in Healthcare

A contest was announced for the ‘Top 10 Innovative Companies in Healthcare’ during the official opening of the Healthy Life space as part of the 3rd Russian Public Health Forum in Moscow. The ceremony was attended by Russian Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Salagay, Head of the WHO European Office for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases and WHO Programme Manager for Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity Joao Breda, Head of WHO Country Office in Kazakhstan Oleg Chestnov, First Deputy Chairman of a Committee of the Russian Federation Council Igor Kagramanyan, Director of the Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activities Yelena Sokolova, and Roscongress Foundation First Deputy Director for Development, Head of the Healthy Life Project Anastasia Stolkova. The contest is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation together with the Russian Ministry of Health, the Content Foundation, and the Skolkovo Foundation.

“Today, there are a sufficient number of innovative companies working in the healthcare sector in Russia whose projects are competitive on the global market. Holding such contests helps to find the most talented teams and promising projects that will receive comprehensive support”, Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The contest is part of the Roscongress Foundation’s Business Priority project. Having the status of Business Priority offers companies a broad range of opportunities for active growth and development. The projects that are selected will receive support from the country’s leading experts and assistance with their promotion as well as searching for and raising investments.

“The contest is being held to support innovative companies whose activities directly contribute to the implementation of the government’s health policy, improvements to people’s quality of life, and the introduction of innovative medical technologies. Tech companies are some of the drivers of the industry and play an important role in solving national problems”, Russian Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Salagay said.

The final part of the contest and the awards ceremony will take place at the Healthy Life Forum on 12 February 2020.

“The contest winners will receive the most valuable thing that can be offered to an entrepreneur – assistance in building and scaling their business. Thanks to this support, companies will be able to raise investment and enter the international market as soon as possible”, Skolkovo Foundation Chairman Arkady Dvorkovich said.

The ‘Top 10 Innovative Companies in Healthcare’ contest aims to combine efforts and knowledge in various areas of science, technology, and medicine to create a landscape for the healthcare of the future. The new tech projects and teams that are ready for the challenges of the future will have direct access to the world’s largest technology consumers, will be able to implement their projects as quickly as possible, and transition to scaling and exporting their product to foreign markets.

The Healthy Life Forum will take place on 12 February 2020 as part of the Russian Investment Forum at the Main Media Centre of Sochi’s Olympic Park. The Forum is the result of the annual activities of the Roscongress Foundation’s Healthy Life project, which was created in order to find and develop practical proposals to implement national projects that aim to solve the problem of increasing the healthy life expectancy of Russian citizens. The Forum is supported by the Russian Ministry of Health.

The Healthy Life Forum was first held on 13 February 2019 and was attended by some 3,000 people.

The Content Foundation for the Development of Expert and Analytical Activities is the intellectual partner of the Healthy Life project. The Foundation was set up to help create the foundations for a healthy society and the sustainable social development of Russia. The Foundation works on organizing industry events, implementing educational and awareness programmes as well as providing expert and analytical support.
